I believe something has gotten corrupted. Funny thing is, MPEG video files will play.

Really odd. I re-installed Windows 7 because of it, and I played 1 mp3 file. Then I tried to play another, and received the error. I then went back and tried to play the original mp3 file that worked just minutes before and it would NOT play. From then on, nothing would play, and still won't even now. Media player will not. Windows Media player in Windows 7 has a problem playing some wma files. I have been on the phone for over 7 hous with Microsoft support.

They have taken remote control of my computer , They have downloaded sample files that will not play and some that play intermittently. Microsoft original on December 16 said it was a corrupt dll file in the player and a hot fix would be released in the January patches, but that did not happen.
